On The Road in Iceland – Highlights from 7 days circumnavigating the Ring Road (Part 1)

Iceland is simply incredible…!

No amount of superlatives can do it justice, and even the most stunning of images pale in comparison to the sheer magnificence and diversity of the country’s raw natural beauty. Where else can you get drenched under a waterfall, stand gazing down into the sparkling waters of a volcanic crater lake, trudge across a glacier AND stroll across a beach, ALL IN THE SAME DAY!!!

The #Take12Trips Challenge… 2015 Edition

The #Take12Trips Challenge… 2015 Edition

If you’ve been a regular reader of the blog over the years, you would know that I’ve been on a bit of a personal quest… a way for me to try and travel as much as possible; to see as much of the world as I can!

Read: I Pledge to #Take12Trips in 2014

But with a full-time job and VERY limited vacation time, it isn’t always easy, I can tell you that!

Russia through Instagram – A Photo Essay

Russia through Instagram – A Photo Essay

After successfully achieving my goal to #Take12Trips in 2014, I had decided to re-take the pledge and attempt to #Take12Trips in 2015 as well. Updates on my progress in 2015 have been few and far between, but that’s not to say I haven’t been making all attempts to achieve the goal this year. I’ve fallen behind on my blogging momentum and have a huge back-log of posts, but don’t worry, the #Take12Trips challenge remains high on my list of priorities.

I’ve taken 8 trips thus far and have one or two more potential travel plans later this year. I’ve had a few setbacks as well: June was the first month in over a year where I didn’t get to travel outside my city at all, and August became the second month in 2015 with no trips materializing. But following quickly on the heels of this disappointment came my biggest trip this year… one I had been planning for months!

NEVER AGAIN… Lessons (I Hope) travel has taught me

NEVER AGAIN… Lessons (I Hope) travel has taught me

When I first read this topic for a monthly travel blogger’s link-up on my dear virtual friend Shikha’s blog, I couldn’t wait to write out my own entry. What a superb topic, I thought!

We’ve all had them. Those experiences which smack us with disappointment while they are happening, but end up teaching us important lessons for trips to come. The ones which make us stronger, maybe just a little bit wiser!

My Top 3 Travel Bucket List Destinations

My Top 3 Travel Bucket List Destinations

I’m going to be honest here, and just say it!
I DON’T HAVE A BUCKET LIST.

I haven’t pondered over the things I want to do before I die, or made a list of all the places I want to see before I kick the bucket. And for a change, it isn’t because I’m too lazy to make one, or because my ability to procrastinate is award-worthy.

I don’t have a Bucket List simply because I don’t want to limit myself!

I want to see everything there is to see; I want to do everything there is to do; and I want to go everywhere there is to go…!

Ambitious much?!

2014 – The Year I Took 12 Trips in 12 Months

2014 – The Year I Took 12 Trips in 12 Months

When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you achieve it!
– Paulo Coelho

2014 is coming to a close, and while I most certainly cannot believe another year has flown by so rapidly, when I pause to reflect on these twelve months, I’m filled with nothing but pride.

5 Destinations I Would Love To Return To

5 Destinations I Would Love To Return To

193 UN-recognised countries in the world, not enough time to visit them all!
That’s the school of thought I usually subscribe to. Every time it comes to selecting a destination to visit, I usually tend towards someplace I haven’t been before.
New cities to visit, new sights and sounds to experience, new cultures to immerse myself in, new food to stuff my face with!

Sights and Sounds of Salzburg

Raindrops on tulips on a cold windy morning;
the sunshine was whimsy as we went exploring.

Cream coloured buildings and crisp apple strudels;
green copper domes but no schnitzel with noodles.

A silver white winter had melted to spring;
Salzburg truly showed me some of my favourite things.
