2015 has been a great year for me, in so many ways…! A year of family celebrations, of personal discoveries & professional achievements; and of many beautiful memories. So, as we begin the countdown to the end of 2015 and before we begin looking towards what 2016 may bring; here’s a quick look back at some of my favourite things from this past year.
October – one of my favourite months in the year, and always the busiest!!!
This year, also the reason why things have been so utterly silent and forlorn here at Life On My Plate!
Clearly, I am seriously behind in my blogging updates!
The highlight for me in the month of September was our family holiday to Russia. I’ve already taken you through some of the best things about the trip in my Russia through Instagram post, but there was a bit more to the month as well!
So here’s a quick look at the month of September, flashed back through Instagram.
A young man, all of 18 years of age, decides to establish a start-up aimed at building India’s version of AirBnB. While building this company and working on this model, he travels across the country visiting and staying in over 100 bed-and-breakfast rooms. He discovers that what budget accommodation lacks in India is standardization. And an idea is born…!
After successfully achieving my goal to #Take12Trips in 2014, I had decided to re-take the pledge and attempt to #Take12Trips in 2015 as well. Updates on my progress in 2015 have been few and far between, but that’s not to say I haven’t been making all attempts to achieve the goal this year. I’ve fallen behind on my blogging momentum and have a huge back-log of posts, but don’t worry, the #Take12Trips challenge remains high on my list of priorities.
I’ve taken 8 trips thus far and have one or two more potential travel plans later this year. I’ve had a few setbacks as well: June was the first month in over a year where I didn’t get to travel outside my city at all, and August became the second month in 2015 with no trips materializing. But following quickly on the heels of this disappointment came my biggest trip this year… one I had been planning for months!
August became the second month in 2015 without any travel materializing. The only consolation I had was the wee bit of travel planning I’ve been doing for my upcoming trip. My itchy feet have been acting up like no body’s business, and I can’t wait till Friday! But more on that in just a little bit!
Here’s a quick look at the past month, flashed back through Instagram.
Farzi Café opened in DLF Cyber Hub in Gurgaon’s Corporate Hub, Cyber City, over a year ago. Despite the excessive adulation and constant barrage of recommendations that were coming my way, I had never been.
It was Saturday, the Fourth of July. My Twitter timeline & Facebook / Instagram feeds were heavily populated with updates on fireworks and parades, summer barbeques and picnics, and all manners of patriotic festivities from across the globe. Meanwhile, I was sitting holed up in my cubicle at work, feeling increasingly restless.
It’s been 26 days since my last post; the longest I have ever gone, in my over two years of blogging, without something new coming out on LifeOnMyPlate!
Definitely not something I am proud of!
But with some disturbances and disruptions in life this past month, and some new travel planning that is turning out to be way more complicated than I had anticipated, penning down a post was the last thing on my mind. But more on that later…!
So while I head off to try and get my Blogging mojo back, here’s a quick look at the past month, flashed back through Instagram.
